Geology field studies.

Dorset

The Dorset coast has been a classic fieldwork destination for generations of geology students.

We can provide field courses for GCSE and A Level students from 2 to 4 days in duration.

The courses will include opportunities to practise a wide range of field skills and PAG's whilst exploring the exceptional coastline of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.

Scotland

Our A Level geology field course to N W Scotland visits some of the most famous exposures in the UK.

The 4 day course, based near Ullapool, includes plenty of opportunities to covers PAG's whilst visiting sites such as the Moine Thrust, the Stac Fada meteorite impact site, the major unconformity between the Lewisian Gneiss and the Torridonian and the Scourie Dyke swarm.

A Level geology field course Scotland

Spain

We are currently in the middle of developing a very exciting 5 day A Level geology field course to the Costa Brava, Spain. We expect this course to be up and running ready for the summer term 2023 onwards.

The course will be based in the coastal resort of Platja D'Aro, near Girona, with a stunning granite coastline literally on the hotel doorstep.

We will be including field visits to the Garrotxa Volcanic Park, a monogenetic volcanic field surrounding the town of Olot, 

and Cap de Creus, famous for the exposures of metamorphic and structural geology.
