About Geofieldwork Ltd
Geofieldwork Ltd was formed in March 2018 by Barry Cullimore.
Geofieldwork Ltd specialises in designing and running residential fieldwork just for A Level and Scottish Higher Level Geography courses. We do not run courses on other subjects or for younger students. This specialism enables us to tailor our staffing, resources, equipment, various accommodation options and locations to suit this age group perfectly.
The vast majority of our fieldwork and our programmes can be adapted to meet the individual requirements of a school, and we can also design and teach fieldwork at other locations if required.
Barry has worked in field studies since 1988. He has worked at outdoor education centres in Devon, Mid Wales, Shropshire, Cumbria and Dorset. He worked for the Field Studies Council at Preston Montford and Blencathra between 1991 and 1995. He then moved to Dorset to a teaching post at Leeson House Field Studies Centre. In 1999 he became the manager at Leeson House and left there in 2018 to start his own company.
He has a joint honours degree in Geography and Geology from Exeter University and spent a year as a postgraduate student in the Department of Geography at St Andrews University. He has a PGCE from Charlotte Mason College and holds the UKMLTB Summer Mountain Leadership Award, an enhanced DBS and Outdoor First Aid certificate. He is also a technical member of the British Society for Soil Science.
